With Cody's Miriam Hospital photo ID badge in my pocket for good luck, we managed to qualify for certification under Therapy Dogs, International. In addition to obedience training, Libby has been 'working' at the Courtyard, the Alzheimer's facility at Waterman Lake, and she is already starting to accumulate her own stories of the wonderful ability that dogs have to improve the quality of people's lives. One such story is of a woman whose dementia has progressed to the point at which she is non verbal. When she interacts with Libby, she laughs out loud and on two occasions, she clearly uttered the same word: "Beautiful!"
